Finca Carpe Diem

El hostal en sí está bien, pero es realmente aburrido. El bar cierra demasiado temprano y no te avisan, si quieres disfrutar de tu tiempo, ¡este no es el lugar!

Disfrutamos mucho nuestra estancia en Carpe Diem. La atención del personal muy amable. Comida rica. Nadamos en las 3 albercas. Salimos a caminar cerca a las pozas y cascadas. Un lugar ideal para caminar o descansar. Tienen clases de yoga gratis por la mañana y por la tarde.
Le recomendamos el hotel a varios amigos y familia.

Tuvimos la estancia más fantástica en Finca Carpe Diem. Al principio estábamos un poco inseguros de estar tan lejos de Minca (ya que es donde queríamos ir), pero estoy muy contento de haber reservado aquí. Es un viaje lleno de aventuras hasta allí, pero eso es parte de la diversión y de lo que pagas por estar en medio del paraíso. El lugar ofrece una serie de recorridos que puedes realizar, incluido un recorrido por el café (muy recomendable) y caminatas por las cascadas. El área circundante es hermosa y el río es una excelente manera de refrescarse, si desea un cambio de escenario en una de las 3 hermosas piscinas. El servicio fue fantástico: un agradecimiento especial a Brenda en la recepción y a Luis y William en el restaurante, nada era demasiado y siempre te saludaban con una sonrisa. Cada comida que tuvimos fue deliciosa, fue una de las mejores comidas que hemos probado en Colombia y el menú era lo suficientemente grande como para poder comer algo diferente cada noche. ¡No dudaría en recomendar este albergue a cualquiera y espero que podamos volver algún día!

El mejor hotel y el mejor lugar para alojarse en la zona de Minca pero en el lado tranquilo. La recepción responde a todas nuestras preguntas.
¡Nos cuidaron muy bien como si estuviéramos en casa! Josee habla francés, inglés y español. ¡También es fantástico tener la oportunidad de ser entendido y de entender!
¡La recepción nos reservó los 3 motocross para llegar al hotel por la estación de Bonda! ¡Fue divertido experimentar esto también y nos sentimos seguros con ellos!
Una vez llegamos nos explican todo muy bien. ¡Teníamos una habitación privada con cama king! ¡Las camas son cómodas y la habitación es preciosa! Nota al margen > no hay agua caliente pero te acostumbras;)
¡Las vistas son impresionantes desde las 3 piscinas!
¡Tomamos algunas bebidas allí y todas estaban hechas perfectamente! ¡Todo lo que hay en el menú sabe delicioso! (¡¡¡todo lo que tenga pollo o carne!)
Hicimos el recorrido del cacao cerca y el recorrido del café también y ¡nos encanta la experiencia ya que es su granja!
¡También caminamos hasta la cascada Mango Del Pazo y la cascada escondida Silvestre! ¡Siempre nos sentimos seguros en el área ya que todos son amigables!
Recomendaría totalmente el lugar a todos mis amigos. Gracias

El hotel Finca Carpe Diem en Colombia es un verdadero paraíso natural. Los paisajes son impresionantes, el servicio es amable y las habitaciones son cómodas. Es el lugar perfecto para una escapada relajante rodeado de la naturaleza colombiana. Te lo recomiendo mucho!

El hotel cuenta con 3 piscinas, distribuidas en 3 pisos diferentes con impresionantes vistas a la selva.
La comida es de primera categoría.
El hotel ofrece actividades gratuitas, clases de salsa, clases de yoga.
Se ofrecen otras actividades muy económicas e increíbles: visita a una Finca, visita a cascadas con o sin guía.
La ubicación del hotel es ideal, cerca de Minca y cerca del Parque Tayrona,

Este es un gran lugar para venir y relajarse. Desde el momento en que llegué, el personal estuvo más que feliz de ayudarme con cualquier cosa que necesitara. Los dormitorios son geniales y todo el lugar se mantiene muy limpio. Hay una gran selección de comida y también actividades para realizar durante el día, como una caminata de 5 horas por varias cascadas.

¡Me encantó el carpe diem! Ubicación remota, pero no es difícil llegar a ella. La comida era buena y las caminatas fueron divertidas. ¡Vistas realmente bonitas desde la piscina!
¡Solo asegúrate de traer billetes pequeños para el mototaxi!

Excelente hotel, está hermoso y muy bien cuidado. La comida está deliciosa, la limpieza es muy buena, la vista está increíble y es un gran lugar para descansar en la sierra. Lo único es que los chicos colombianos del restaurante no tienen el entusiasmo colombiano y la clase de yoga en la mañana no la hicimos porque la profesora no llego a tiempo y nadie nos dió explicaciones. Del resto todo estuvo muy bien. Volvería mil veces.

I liked this place a lot! It was lovely and everything was clean and spotless. I’m a solo traveler and there were almost only couples and families. Also I’m lactose intolerant and it was impossible for breakfast to exchange yoghurt with almond milk (or anything lactose free) which I didn’t understand why.
Also don’t do your laundry there, it’s overpriced and they wrapped my clothes in one of my dresses and ripped it… it wasn’t bad cause it was second hand anyways, but if you charge that much for laundry, at least put the clothes in a bucket or a plastic bag…

I had a brilliant stay at Carpe Diem. It was so clean and tidy and the food was delicious! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed few days

Privé hut was prachtig! Mooie plek middenin de natuur, mooie zwembaden. Goede plek om tot rust te komen, maaar niet in Minca zoals booking en Airbnb aangeven. Playa del Mango is nog 5 kwartier rijden vanaf Minca ter info ;)

What a great place, we spent 4 nights here and it was very comfortable. Kobe and his staff were incredible and so helpful guiding us with recommendations and transportation. The coffee tour was very informative and delicious. Lots of foreign travelers here we met some great people. Enjoyed the 3 pools, yoga, and just reading in the hammocks. Very friendly dogs and cats. The food was excellent especially the seafood stew which we ordered twice. Beautiful waterfalls within a 30 minute walk. Hard to leave this place!

Hostel paradisiaque situé dans un endroit paradisiaque!

Personnel et propriétaires en or, nourriture excellente, activités à faire variées et hors du commun!

Gato, our moto taxi driver, was absolutely great. Highly communicative, professional and good-natured

Great facilities terrible service - staff were quite rude when trying to speak to them in spanish, and generally did not treat us politely.

We stayed here for three nights and were asked to pack up out stuff and move dorms every day

I stayed here with a group of friends and we did not have a positive experience. All three of our reservations have already been removed from HostelWorld and Booking.com so that we can’t leave a review - this explains why the hostel is rated so highly on these sites.

Issues we experienced:
- One of the reservations in the private room was very damp (the bed was wet) and when they asked to change it, they were told to just deal with it.
- All of our washing was wet when we collected it two days later so we had to pack damp clothes in our bags to leave.
- The private transfer we booked was 30 minutes late and we ended up missing our flight.
- This hostel is listed in Minca and it is actually one hour away (30 mins is off road and needs to be driven by motorbike) so it is accessible to go to the town.
- When asking for help in basic Spanish, the staff rolled their eyes on multiple occasions.

If you do end up staying here, the only spot I would recommend is a little bar down the road that does amazing food and great hospitality - ask around for Baptiste and Alejandro!

Really relaxing and nice atmosphere. Good restaurant with lots of vegetarian/vegan options. Very nice staff and good location! Great variety of activities.

(-) Only after we reserved they send us the info about how difficult it is to get here. It’s a 30 min hard ride that you have to take a jeep or motorcycle in order to get here. (And it costs…)
(-) We had a lot of worms in the room.
(-) 1 of the 3 pools was close for maintenance. (The main one that near the rooms).
(-) The staff is very kind but doesn’t speak English at all. (Except for 1 volunteer).
(-) There wasn’t a big selection of food, and some dishes were missing.

(+) The compound is very clean.
(+) The shared areas are really nice, and the upper pools are beautiful.
(+) The hostel offers nice activities around it.
(+) The private room was large and comfortable.

We booked two nights in private room. There was a mistake with the booking on their part so they had to change to a small twin room. This was a little bit annoying as the room was up many steps and had to climb them in the rain with a 20kg backpack on my back. Overall the place is lovely when it is not raining. We were very unlucky and it rained consistently for two days. It is incredibly difficult to get to this place. You take a 4 by 4 jeep through some of the worst dirt tracks- very very bumpy. Overall the staff in the bar appeared very dour and in no way friendly. Consistently we would have to ask to be served. Very poor customer service from bar staff.

This was an amazing stay. We paid for direct transportation from the Sta. Marta airport and got a few snacks on the way to Carpe Diem (the driver, Miguel, was kind enough to stop at a market on the way). Once up at the finca you'll find incredible viewpoints, pools, a welcoming staff (Martina, Maria, Baptiste, Luis, among others), and all kinds of activities. Not to mention the delicious food and natural juices.
The hostel can be a great space to socialize but also to be on your own. It truly strikes a balance.

La estadía no pudo haber sido mejor. El transporte directo desde el aeropuerto al hostal, la amabilidad y cordialidad de todo el personal. Los miradores, las actividades, el silencio de las montañas, la comida. Un espacio ideal ya sea para socializar o para tener momentos aislados.

Really can’t say enough about this magical place it was our favourite getaway. We recharged in beautiful cabanas, sunset hikes, great sunrises, birds, it was the perfect place we rearranged our trip to come back and stay longer. The staff are exceptional and personal, it felt like home. Safe and quiet definitely the perfect escape during COVID. Yummy food with lots of veggies options and lots to explore! We highly recommend it!

Great place to share a few nights! Thought. Two nights would be enough; not the case at all. Could have easily spent a few more lounging by the pool, going to the waterfalls, or having some chocolate face masks poured on me.

The rooms are pretty great. Myself and two friends stayed in a 4 bed room, with a pretty large ensuite. Our place was just outside a beautiful outlook, with a pool to match. Well worth the trip. FYI: they have told me their prices are cheaper through their site. Hostel world is quite expensive.

Es un lugar sensacional; tiene una vista inigualable a la Sierra Nevada desde sus piscinas ubicadas en la montaña, la atención del personal y la comida son excelentes, las habitaciones son amplias y muy cómodas. Puedes llegar a este lugar solo tomando un taxi hasta Bonda o en un bus de los que pasan frente a la terminal de transportes o se toman en el mercado de Santa Marta. Posteriormente, abordas una moto que te lleva por una ruta pedregosa e inclinada hasta el lugar, siempre se encuentra quien te lleve o llamas al alojamiento y envían a alguien por ti. Es un buen lugar para quienes disfrutan el ecoturismo.

Carpe Diem is a paradise to escape reality and connect with nature and people.
Activities:
The place offers different hiking options, like the five waterfalls route and the Santa Marta's Viewpoint. I recommend going equiped with good shoes, sweatpants, a bottle of water and a cute bikini to enjoy every part of the place.
They also offer other activities like the Coffee Tour, in which the guide (Alvaro or Luis) explains to you how is the coffee making process and you can grind your own coffee beans to finally drink a good cup of coffee. You can also go on the bird exploration which is very early in the morning I think it was 6 a.m. I didn't go but I was told it's a good experience, so try it if you want go ahead.
Pet friends:
If you have the pleasure to visit Carpe Diem you surely going to meet Kamil and Gaspar, too lovely pets that will accompany you in every part of the adventure.
Food and Restaurant:
Regarding to the food, I would say they should add more options to the menu but so far the taste is good, and you would have the opportunity to try tipical "patacones" made with popocho, which is a special and smaller plantain. All breakfast come with a small fruit salad and juice. There is free coffee and tea until 9a.m.
Beer and drinks: They only have Aguila and Club Colombia beer available. I would also suggest to have more varierity.
Connections:
There is no signal in there at all, except for the Viewpoint, which is a 30min walk and hike. I really recommend it, it's totally worth it.
There's is WiFi available in most areas of the hostal.
Facilities:
Rooms are pretty clean and organize. Bathrooms are good. In general, the place is comfortable.
You have access to the three available pools, but the best one is the one upstairs, I would say it is the third floor, because you have the best view. The space have few hamacas to chill and relax, you can put on some music, read a book, do some yoga, or just take the sun and enjoy the chilling vibes.

Very hard to reach, intransparent policies (wifi off from 19h to 21h?), inflexible staff and overpriced restaurant.

Este lugar no queda ni cerca de Minca. Es imposible llegar sin pagar una fortuna en moto taxi (que obviamente está arreglado con el hotel). No hay nada para hacer adentro. Es un lugar para gente muy mayor que puede subir muchas escaleras. No lo recomiendo

I never write reviews but I have to give a shoutout to Finca Carpe Diem. Not only was the staff pleasant during my stay and the service impeccable while I was there, but I left my eyeglasses on my bed to return to Santa Marta before I flew out. I contacted Finca and they coordinated with my Santa Marta Hostel (Dreamer) to deliver my glasses before I flew out early the next morning. The level of customer service was just outstanding. I'd return there in a heartbeat.

Cet hotel est une arnaque pure. Ils le vendent comme localisé a Minca mais il est très loin et très coûteux de Minca. Vous êtes coincés a l'hôtel si vous y allez. Mais le personnel ne vous le dit qu'après. Quelqu'un a même eu le culot de me dire que l'on pouvait aller a pied a Minca en 5 heures! Quel culot! J'ai demandé un remboursement mais bizarrement, plus personne ne répond. Fuyez cette arnaque!

Hugely disappointed. We expected much more from a "luxurious" hostel. First, the kitchen has only 2 stoves and very old pans which make it very unpleasant to cook. We felt obliged to eat at their restaurant (which is uncommon for a hostel) but of course the meals are super expensive as well. Second, they organise tours where you are supposed to produce your own coffee, but then you just get a cup of it to taste and the rest is at purchase at the cafeteria! The only things that we liked were the pools and the size of the private lodge. I don't recommend.

Top site with amazing views, 3 nice pools to enjoy your moment, some hammocks. So nice!

Food is a bite overpriced (20 to 30 000 cop cv 6 to 9usd), but good.
Price for a dorm is around 30-40 000 cop depending how many people sleep in.

The key thing is the staff and especially the guy at the reception and the owner. Totally, antipathetic and not helpful at all. The other are okay, but nothing special. They include automatically the tips (5%) in the bill, which is quite unconvinient. You can refuse to pay it, of course, but it is always an unconfortable situation.

Selling a double directly at the reception 170 000 cop while it was 120 000 cop on booking (we checked after because we were surprised of the price).

We liked our stay but definitely advise the staff and especially the owner (as an example) to change their behaviors vis a vis the clients.

It is a nice but expensive place to relax at pools. 35000 Pesos the cheapest possiblity to stay (breakfast not included). Plus 15000 for the cheapest breakfast.
I can hardly recommend the 1h walk to the waterfalls.

Les travaux assourdissants sur toute la durée de notre séjour ont gêné tout le dortoir. Travaux de la cuisine qui continuaient.pendant que le personnel préparait la cuisine! Cela nous a un peu gâché notre séjour.

Cuarto para dos inmejorable.
Ubicación estratégica para hiking, piscinas con hermosas vistas.
Excelentes precios.
Eso sí, la atención de los meseros. Puede ser mejor.

In the middle of nature, super friendly staff and owners, helping out the local community too. There are three pools and with the hammocks this is a great way to relax. The cabanas are spacious and clean. There is a ton of activities around, like swimming in natural pools or taking a shower under a big waterfall. Recommend this 100%.

Sitio genial para descansar, limpio y rodeado de una naturaleza increible. Cuenta con piscinas, bar y restaurante (aunque los precios son bastante altos, 5000 una cerveza y la media de los platos sera 25000 o así).
