Hice el recorrido a caballo por el río el jueves con Oscar. ¡¡Fue absolutamente INCREÍBLE! Oscar solo habla español pero es muy paciente con todos y aún puedes entenderlo y comunicarte con él. Recomiendo ampliamente este recorrido. Hasta ahora es lo más destacado de mi viaje a Colombia. También te prestan botas para el recorrido por el río ya que galopamos en el río y nos podemos mojar.

Una experiencia increíble. Hicimos la ruta de fincas cafeteras y vuelta por el río. Una muy buena forma de conocer la región de Palestina Quindío de la mano de un gran profesional como es Óscar Julián y su familia. Se nota la entrega y la pasión por su trabajo. Los caballos en perfecto estado y muy bien adiestrados.

¡Experiencia espectacular! Óscar estuvo impecable, incluso para los que no tienen experiencia con caballos es muy seguro y a la vez aventurero.
Impresionantes vistas, pasamos varias veces el río a caballo, indescriptible.
Fue una de las mejores experiencias de nuestro viaje, lo recomendamos ampliamente.

A big thanks to Oscar and his wife for the experience. We did the 3h tour to the river and it was amazing. The horses are well cared for, and Oscar makes sure all goes smoothly whatever your level is. I never tried horse riding before while my girlfriend is experienced and we both could enjoy the afternoon fully.

Great day out with horses. We got to see beautiful countryside of Salento and some coffee plantation. We went through water streams which was very cool.

Absolutely fantastic, spectacular, superb! I loved the many river crossings, galloping and beautiful views. I went first with my horse and the horse knew the way exactly, was really brave and energetic. We had a group of totally different levels of experience (from beginners to decades of experience) and everybody had so much fun and was totally enjoying the experience. Amazing!

Wow just wow. What an incredible experience. Amazing family run Buisnes and for some one with no experience on a horse what absolutely an incredible thing to do. 10/10 a total must do if here in Salento. Well worth the money and great value for money totally. Missing out if you don’t do it.

Went for the river crossing tour.

Overcrowded tour (15 people with only one leader), horses (and some travellers) were out of control, horses and travellers were constantly bumping into each other. Leader show no care when one of our fellow travellers got hurt.

The route we took was VERY scenic and fun, if only you could choose another operator…

Family run tour operator for horse riding at absolutely fair prices. Horses are in very good condition and are treated with love. You can rent boots which is very convenient if you choose the river route. Oscar is such a nice and helpful guide, who explains a lot and responds to any wishes. Just a fantastic experience in the midst of beautiful nature!

Mon fiancé n'avait pas un bon souvenir des balades à cheval mais Oscar et Canelo l'ont totalement réconcilié avec ça! Nous avons adoré les paysages à couper le souffle, les chevaux sont juste incroyables, et Oscar est très professionnel. Merci encore!

Don Oscar es un excelente guía, nos explicó todo con mucho detalle y humor. Cuida muchísimo a sus caballos y se nota el cariño y amor con el que trabaja.

Hicimos un recorrido de 3h, cruzando el río y adentrándonos en el bosque. En todo momento fue muy atento con todo el mundo.

Nos llevó a un restaurante dónde nos refrescamos y pudimos charlar con él sobre su oficio y la vida en Salento. Fue muy cercano con nosotros.

Nos llevamos una experiencia inolvidable.

What an amazing adventure! Perfect route through the forest and river. The horses are incredible. The guide can’t be more professional and is very friendly and funny (Spanish only - but slow and easy to follow). Further, he and the rest of the team seem to treat the horses in the best way possible. Highly recommended!

What an incredible experience! Our guide, Oscar, is the best. He made sure we enjoyed the whole experience explaining everything and making sure we were safe during the tour. We were not very experienced in riding horses and these horses were amazing. I have to say that the horses they have are the most healthy and beautiful horses I had ever seen. My wife and I didn’t go with long pants and they provided long pants, boots and raining ponchos for both. If you are in Salento, you must do this Tour.

We did the coffee farm and river tour - and what should I say: it was an AMAZING day! Oscar, our guide, was so fun, informative and gave us a good feeling on the horses.

We both had (barely) no experience on horse riding: but that was no problem because the horses were calm and easy to handle. Oscar explained us a lot about the area and made us laugh a lot.

It’s a family owned horse farm and all of them were so friendly.

Finally: definitely make the river tour. The landscape is Amazing and it gives you an extra adrenaline kick for the day ;)

Amazing experience! Everybody was really lovely and the horses were well trained and gorgeous. Completely fell in love with my horse, Pinto. Oscar, our guide, was the best. Such a positive person and really professional. Highly recommend!

On the strength of previous reviews I just turned up and they accommodated me that morning. I chose the route to the Santa Rita waterfall. They provided hat and boots and Armando was my guide. My Spanish is limited but we managed to converse along the way. I had the most fantastic time. We rode down the mountainside, across three streams and through two tunnels before reaching the waterfall. My horse was just right for me and we went at my pace, some trotting and a very short canter - I had not ridden for over a year. It is very good value and I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment.

Truly amazing experience, the tour is reasonably priced and the service is beyond excellent, I had a docile and well-treated horse for my first horseback riding experience in my life, and it went very smoothly.
I believe this should be a must-do to anyone who visits Salento, the views and the journey in this tour is breathtaking, even if you never rode horses before just go ahead with this, you won't regret it!

My husband had no experience horseback riding and for me it was more than 15 years ago but the horses were great, we absolutely loved it. They were well-treated and easy-going. We would definitely recommend this company/family to take you for a ride. We were the only ones for our tour which made it even more relaxing. We’re even thinking to go for a second (and longer) tour in a few days.

An amazing and breathtaking experience that is a must-see for anyone coming into town. We did the 3 hour tour that took us up into the mountains and to the waterfalls. The staff took their time to explain how to ride the horses and ensured we were comfortable. It's run by a father and son who were extremely sincere, nice and caring.

This was our first horseback riding experience. Our guide, Don Julian, explained everything to us so we felt confortable and secure during the whole experience. The horses seemed super healthy and well treated; Don Julian explained that each horse was working 1 day and then had a 3-day rest.

We did the river tour. The tour starts with the coffee road and takes you to a “rio espectacular”. The views are breathtaking all along the ride. This was by far our favorite activity in Salento. Highly recommended!

Exciting ride! 60,000 COP for ~3 hours, with a choice of two trails: a flat easy one, and a challenging route to the waterfalls, that has you going up and down some steep trails, and also wade through the river! Can get a little scary at times if you're a beginner, so choose the flat route. Also, wear thicker pants if you can. My thighs got chafed because I were thin adventure pants.

The guide was an older lady who spoke very basic English ("left", "right"), but was kind and took photos of me. As a solo traveler for this adventure, that was very helpful.

The horse Pocholo was pretty calm, and it knew most of the route through the river!

Inadvertently ended up going on a private 4 hour tour which included a coffee farm tour. The coffee farm was a smaller lesser known one but the guide spoke great English and was very personable. This was my first time on a horse and although it was nerve racking at times the horse (Canelo) was well trained and could go through the route without much guidance. My guide (rubia) didn't speak much English but that was not an issue and she always looked after my wellbeing. Overall I loved the horse ride, going across the river was a particular highlight. Would recommend to anyone in Salento.for the price it definitely felt like good value for money. Mitul

This is a fantastic place where you can go on horses to places you will only dream about! The experience is just amazing, they are very professional, they have beautiful horses that are loved and very well taking care off. Besides that, Oscar is always making sure everyone is safe and He will go above and beyond for the customers. We love it and highly recommend to anyone! The horseback riding through the river valley was magical! The views were breath-taking and it was so much fun! The trek included an optional stop for a coffee tour at a local farm, which we chose not to do as we had a similar tour planned for the next day. We did however stop for a break and coffee there, which was lovely. We were super impressed with how well Oscar has trained his horses, they knew the route by heart, even the several points at which we crossed the river. Cariñoso and Azulejo were wonderful intelligent horses, very gentle and sweet. That said we did have a couple of moments of fast trotting and cantering when there was more open space on the path, lots of fun! For those concerned about going fast, don’t worry Oscar tailors each ride to your skill level, and as we knew how to ride a little, this is why we did some faster bits. Oscar was friendly and clearly cares deeply about his horses, he even explained that he only keeps one mare because he doesn’t have the appropriate space for them to be comfortable while they’re in heat or having just given birth. This is a man who isn’t out to make a quick buck off tourism but genuinely loves his horses, each and every one, and thrives off living in such beautiful countryside and riding every day. Don’t think twice, ride with Oscar!

Exactly what we were looking for: a safe but exciting ride through the magical landscape around Salento.

Oscar our guide was warm and helpful even to those who didn’t speak Spanish. His horses were beautiful and well kept, each one with their own personality. This is not a tourist trap attraction, it’s a lovingly curated experience. Our tour took us through rivers and trails up to a coffee farm where we stopped for a drink and a view.

Most of us in our group had very little to no experience but had an amazing time. Couldn’t recommend it more, one of the highlights of our trip to Quindío.

Highlight of our time in Latin America so far. Oscar is knowledgeable and friendly (despite the language barrier) and the horses are extremely well cared for (very important to us). Absolutely recommend.

Our horseride was pretty good! Never been on a horse before but Oscar explained pretty well what to do. We went trough a river to a waterfall and had a lot of fun. Definitely one of our highhights in columbia!

It was an amazing horseride with a very friendly guide Oscar. Horses are in good condition and good to ride. We did a five hour tour to a waterfall up the hills and the view was stunning. Definitely worth the money.

Amazing riding experience. Took the El Peñol route which was spectacular and includes several river crossings. Horses are good, responsive and calm. Guide was great and even took pictures and videos of us. Really recommend this place for riding. It's very reliable and horses are good!

Absolutely phenomenal experience! Would highly recommend to everyone! Oscar is so lovely and helpful and the ride itself is worth 10 times more than what it costs! A real adventure
