Olvídate del Valle de Cocora, solo encuentra a Eduardo y sus muchachos y él te mostrará la belleza de La Carbonera, el bosque de palmeras más grande. Oh, y 40 km de bajada también fueron épicos.

El recorrido con Eduardo es muy especial y imprescindible para los buscadores de aventuras. Más importante aún, el valle de La Carbonera es mucho más hermoso que Cocora ya que tiene siete mil veces más palmeras. El recorrido en sí comienza temprano (07: 30) pero termina alrededor de las 13: 30 e incluye un picnic en un lugar mágico.

Eduardo en sí es un tipo encantador lleno de historias sobre la región, sus gustos y aversiones en la música, las aves en La Carbonera y la propia Colombia. ¡Estupendo chico!

¡Una experiencia absolutamente increíble! Los guías fueron muy serviciales y hablaban muy bien inglés. Las bicicletas eran bicicletas de montaña especializadas de muy buena calidad, todas en muy buenas condiciones, las recomendaría al 100%.

Amazing hosting from Eduardo, the owner. He absolutely made our trip to Salento worthwhile. He drove us to the top of the mountain, made sure we were properly briefed on the rules around cycling 30km back to the bottom. The whole 5 hour experience has been a highlight and that's despite not having ridden a bike for years. The pics attached to this review sum up why it was such a good experience. Back to Eduardo and his team; friendly, passionate guys who really care about the wellbeing of their customers. I fell off my bike (my fault, thought I was invincible) and the ONLY concern they had was for my wellbeing, not the equipment which thankfully was not badly damaged. Thank you guys, the memories will be with me forever.

We had a really good time with Eduardo and his team! They have shown us La Carbonera Valley where we have had a nice picknick with Cows, a beautiful view over the Palm trees and there are no tourists meaning no crowded place lime in the cocora valley! We definitely recommend this trip with Eduardo as the bikes are really well maintained and Eduardo and his team are really taking care of the bikes and everybody on the trip! Makes fun to downhill from 3400 meters above sea level to Salento!

We had an amazing tour to la Carbonera! Indeed, he is the only guide being able to go onto the territory on which we had a great picnic;) way better than the cocora valley!

Great experience! The views in the park are absolutely breathtaking, the ride is a thrill while not having to pedal (so also suitable for beginners), Eduardo is a great guide who makes it fun and safe!

Superbe expérience! Très professionnel avec tous les conseils de sécurité et de très bons vélos et équipements. Petite balade dans la vallée pour avoir le temps de tout admirer et voir les palmiers avec un petit pic-nic en prime! Les paysages étaient magnifiques et nous étions en petit groupe ce qui est très agréable:)

Must do! The ride is nice & not difficult, they mean it when they say you don't have to pedal! Eduardo is a fantastic guide full of facts and jokes, and La Carbonera is breathtaking.

He messaged us the evening before if we could reschedule, when we couldn’t it was supposed to be all good but then he canceled the trip at 6am because of the rain.

It was raining lightly all night, but nothing too bad. And it’s mountainbiking, there is supposed to be a bit of mud!

We were very disappointed, because the mountainbike tour was the main purpose of our trip to Salento.

Then we saw multiple other companies leaving town, which started laughing when we told our tour was canceled because of a bit of rain. Luckily we could join one of the other companies and had an amazing day! (The mud wasn’t bad at all!)

Felt like the owner had other reasons than just the rain to cancel and was dishonest. I recommend you to check out one of the other companies in Salento!

An absolutely great experience, Eduardo and his team were very professional and provide a 5 * experience. Definitely suited to experienced or novice riders, the route is stunning and Eduardo allows you to go as fast or as slow as you like.

Amazing experience. Eduardo is a very good instructor and pleasant company. The mountain bike tour itself was great, and on top of that you make a short hike through the scenic and "secret" La Carbonara valley (think Cocora valley, but then 10x more beautiful).

Really nice downhill MTB tour in Salento! Everything was very well organized, good communication and safe high quality material. Im not sure La Carbonera was that impressive but it was more about the ride than the views.

Had an incredible day with Eduardo and his team at Salento Cycling. I can't recommend this experience enough - it was awesome! This is the best way to experience the magical palm trees near Salento. It is not too difficult - even people without mountain biking experience will be able to do it. Contact them, go spend a day on the mountains with them and it will be extraordinarily rewarding experience.

Bikes are good, guides are perfect, there is tracks for everybody and scenery is amazing.

Great experience in Salento! Our guide Santi spoke great English and was very knowledgeable about Colombia and the eje cafetero area. They were very kind and made sure we felt comfortable all the time. Highly recommended!

These guys are amazing! Eduardo and santiago were great for the whole tour. Wasn’t able to do the single track add on at the end due to weather but I wish we could have!

Some people know how to do things and they are this type. Eduardo makes you discover the area like no other. Showing around us he is showing you a hiden gem because for no reason Tochecito is a lot less turistic than Cocora Valley. He makes our day! I felt that there is a way to enjoy turist services out of the beaten road. Congrats! And really thanks for the day and all tips you gave us:)

It was amazing, best thing we did in Salento and way better then Valle de Cocora! You can do it with a beginner level or a more higher level of mountain biking. I like to mountain bike, so I could do the more advanced route and my girlfriend did the other. We started together and you go to a amazing (the biggest) palm tree forest. No other people (I don’t know why, but it is great).
The bikes are really really really professional, the guys (Eduardo and Santiago) are friendly and funny. They know what they doing, very professional!

Eduardo was absolutely amazing! My partner and I are cycle touring in Colombia and after a few days of cycling busy highways we asked him for advise and our trip has been a dream ever since, taking us through stunning countryside. Without his inside knowledge we would have struggled to change our plans with confidence. Thank you Eduardo!

These guys are just amazing! I rented a roadbike to do the Fruit Loop (80km) and it was fantastic. Eduardo was super helpful and the bike was in fantastic condition. Definitely book here if you are into cycling!

Awesome tour is all I can say! The palm tree valley is one of the most beautiful place I have ever been to, much better and less touristy than cocora valley. The two guides were very nice and interesting. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

Golden Road, mountain biking trip to La Carbonera was ace, the wax palm tree forest there is a must see!

Amazing Service - I initially contacted Salento Cycling to help me plan a bikepacking trip in the coffee region. Eduardo was EXTREMELY helpful and went out of his way to help design a route for me and my girlfriend. Unfortunately my girlfriend fell ill before we could start the trip so instead, I rented a bike (Specialized Tarmac in great condition) from the guys to complete the Fruit Loop route alone. I had a fantastic day out (the rout was very challenging with 2000m climbing over the 80km). I would recommend this company to anyone looking to explore the area by bike!

If you're the active type and visit Salento, then taking a tour here is a must. Both the golden road en fruit loop are awesome routes in which you use their well maintained, high quality bicycles. I highly recommend!

Great experience, Santiago was extremely knowledgeable about the nature and the bikes. Bikes and gear were in great condition, lunch was wonderful, all around a fantastic experience which I would highly recommend.

La ruta que realizamos con ellos por la Carbonera fue espectacular. Lo tienen todo muy bien organizado y son gente muy amable y profesional.

Pésimo servcio, bicicletas muy básicas para este tipo de rutas, mala comunicación con el guía, no prestan equipos de protección adecuados muy mala experiencia.

Decepcionada del servicio, no cumplen con lo pactado. Las bicicletas me parecen peligrosas para este tipo de rutas extremas ya que para este tipo de actividades deben ser bicicletas estilo downhill, sus bicicletas muy inseguras y en mal estado. Además incumplidos e impuntuales, me dijeron que la ruta salía a las 8am y terminamos saliendo casi a las 9am. Muy mal servicio

Si vienes a Salento tienes que hacer el day Tour con salento cycling, de lo mejorcito de gente, super amables, simpáticos, divertidos.nada negativo. Si te gusta la bici y la naturaleza sin dudarlo, porque además llegas hasta La Carbonera donde verás miles de palmeras de cera, miles y miles veces más que en cocora valley. Para todos los niveles, no hay prisa en bajar, te van esperando, te llevan las bicis, haces un picnic en una zona llena de palmeras (sándwich, bebida, dulces.). Edu y Santi como dije antes, de diez los dos.

El Tour que hicimos a la Carboneras fue buenísimo, desde que fuimos a preguntar todo fue amabilidad y el trato de Eduardo y demás compañeros para quitarse el sombrero, perfecta la experiencia con ellos.

La peor experiencia de mi vida, poco profesionalismo e información engañosa, prometen ruta extrema y no cumplen, pagamos mucho dinero para 0 adrenalina, no lo recomiendo a aventureros de alto nivel Salento ciclyng no es una buena opción para expertos.

Great place for downhill vtt! Owners are very cool, easy going and fan of nature. When it come to vtt, bikes are good and security equipment is fine. The downhill single tracks is quite challenging but amazing

One of the best tour experiences I have ever had. Extremely passionate and friendly owners and to top it off amazing views. MUST do for anyone visiting Salento.

Must do in Salento. The landscape is full of wax palms, way more than in Cocora Valley. Amazing views and more than 30km downhill. Technically low to medium level.
Eduardo is an amazing guide, the bikes are really good (fullys and hard tails available).

Very nice bike tour and a new perspective on the wax palms away from the beaten tourist tracks.however, bikes should be in a better shape to give more confidence when riding down the hill.

This is an amazing experience and a hidden gem for tourists visiting Salento. Eduardo and his team are really friendly and professional; speaking both English and Spanish fluently, the bikes are excellent quality (Giant Brand) with full or half suspension (depending on your budget). The lunch is included and delicious and the ride itself is exhilarating and safe at the same time. To finish off the tour, everyone enjoys a free beer back at the office. I would recommend this this tour to everyone. Cheers guys!

If you like single trail riding, that's the perfect company for you! The owners are preparing and maintaining their own trails which make so much fun!
They have a great selection of enduro bikes, but also hard trail and street bikes.
